Zen Calligraphy Photos from 16/07/15:Photographs from the Zen Calligraphy workshops with Shinzan Miyamae Roshi can be viewed on the Zen Calligraphy Photos page.
Sesshins: The next 'ArrivingHome' sesshins will begin on; 03/11/15 (7 days, Autumn Ango III). These are intensive in-house sesshins. Experienced friends are welcome. Day-participants may join the sesshin, by pre-arrangement, from 9:00 am and leave when they have had enough, or have another commitment. Please respect the silence of other members by joining and leaving quietly. For further information and enquiries please contact us.
Zen Calligraphy Practice Half-day: We are having another half day of 3 hours 'Calligraphy Practice', to practice the techniques of Shodo calligraphy, have a go at some more sophisticated characters (e.g. Nari kiru) ourselves, and possibly introduce a more fluid technique. We thought provisionally that Sat afternoon from 09:30 - 12:30 might be a good slot on the 21/11/15 (and 23/01/16 times to be arr.) with; 30 min Zen meditation, 20 min moving Zen exercises, and the remainder of the time for calligraphy and tea; all at cost price/donation. Please let us know if you would like to come. If the time/date is not suitable let us know with some alternative suggestions - if that's the case for many of you, maybe we could try another slot. Give us a call/e-mail. Any changes will be posted here.
Yoga-Zen: Group and individual Yoga-Zen sessions, with relaxed, concentrated mindfulness, are available for regular ArrivingHome friends. If special sessions are necessary they may be chargeable. There is some information available on our Yoga-zen page. For further information and enquiries please contact us.
English Translations: English translation of most of the sutras used at 'ArrivingHome' can now be found under Sutras. These are updated from time to time and the update dates can be found in the table next to the sutras.
